Nightlife in the nation's capital was thriving, and at the heart of it all was David Castain, the infamous promoter in the D.C. party scene. He was known for hosting Washington DC’s most exclusive events with top artists like Drake, Future, Lil Wayne and more.

David's popularity at Howard University was legendary. He knew so many people, keeping track of names and familiar faces was impossible. While walking through campus he’d greet almost everyone he saw. One of those people was Kira's sister, Kayla. Each time he’d see her, he would say, "Hey, how's your sister, tell her I said hi!". Kayla would smile back, and say, "She's good," then happily deliver the message to Kira. This simple gesture became a regular interaction between the two.

During one of their encounters, David extended an invitation to Kayla for his upcoming birthday party, and suggested she bring her sister along as well. Kira was hesitent to attend since she was starting a new job the next day, but her sister insisted she come since David requested that she be there. On the night of the party Kayla texted David "Hey, I'm outside with my sister". David had security let them in, directing them to his VIP table. Kayla walked up and said "hey, this is my sister Kira". David was shocked because he didn't know anyone named Kira, and the woman who stood before him was a complete stranger. Which meant he also didn't know Kayla, and that she just resembled the sister of someone that he actually did know.

David believes that everything happens for a reason, so he decided to keep the news to himself. Kira thought about leaving the event early, but after chatting with David, she decided to stay. As the party came to a close, Kira and Kayla said their goodbyes and headed to their car. However, David felt an undeniable chemistry between himself and Kira. He turned to his friend, and said, "I should have gotten her number", his friend agreed, urging him to seize the moment. Without hesitation, he raced up the stairs to catch Kira before she disappeared into the night.

Breathless but determined, he asked for her phone number, and Kira, intrigued by his persistence, swagger, and charm, gave it to him. They quickly discovered a deep mutual connection. Kira was drawn to David's unorthodox approach to life, his spontaneity, edginess, and fearlessness, while David admired Kira's wholesomeness, class, beauty and intelligence. As they solidified their bond, they soon found themselves falling for one another.

At the time, they were both fairly recent graduates of Howard University. David went on to get his Masters from Georgetown University in Public Relations and Corporate Communications and Kira went on to get her Masters from Howard University in Clinical Psychology. Today, they both have their PhDs in Business Psychology from the Chicago School solidifying their credentials as experts in their fields. David and Kira are not just partners in love, they're partners in life. They’re both members of the Forbes List, the Newsweek Expert forum, and the Entrepreneur Leadership network. They’re both licensed professional counselors and licensed life coaches.

They've traveled to 46 countries together, each journey leaving behind unforgettable memories. From watching sunsets in the Maldives to charming king cobras in Sri Lanka, running with the bulls in Spain, and playing with wild kangaroos in Australia, their adventures have been as diverse as they are exhilarating. They've hunted reptiles and made iguana soup with the locals in Honduras, trekked the ancient ruins of Rome, traced the footsteps of ancient Gods in Greece, ridden camels across the deserts of Dubai and slept in beds made of ice in Finland. They've awoken to the panoramic views of hot air balloons filling the skies of Turkey, paddled down the Mekong River in Vietnam, tasted exotic delicacies like snakes and tarantulas in Cambodia, and dared to enter the lion's den in Argentina. They've lounged in the turquoise waters of Tahiti, dived in the coral reefs of Belize, immersed themselves in the vibrant culture of Colombia, and so much more. Each destination has added a new chapter to their story of exploration and shared experiences. Their story is a testament to the power of unexpected connections, relentless passion, and the beauty of shared dreams.
